POLITICAL PORNOGRAPHY (THE FALLACY OF DEMOCRATIC FREE SPEECH) Part- I

Politics is inevitably about solving problems. It embodies the very essence of man in an attempt to resolve the overwhelming situations that have engulfed our society. Politics in its classical ideals portrays a fundamental institution that deals with the struggle for power not in order to use it in a malignant, nebulous or despotic way but as a means to solve the overwhelming ferocious societal economic diseases.

In Ghana however, Politics is a “dirty game” and seen in the light of derogatory. This is a country where political opponents vent their spleen and unleash all soughts of vituperative and vitriolic attacks on each other, just to make their way to the seat of Government.

I don’t think any virile individual who is Compos Mentis would just fight at all cost just to come to power in his or her quest to help save the country. It is nothing but an inadvertent scheme to climb to the corridors of power to make money.

It’s really irritating and annoying, listening to the campaigns of these deceitful politicians. They promise heaven and earth, or perhaps even more than that just to scheme their way to the corridors of power. But when they come, it’s nothing short of mediocrity and profligate expenditure on ostentatious and luxurious properties for themselves.

This is a country where Ministers sell government bungalows, lands and other state properties to themselves with impunity without any recourse to the plight of the poor tax payer, who is striving so hard in this economically anemic country to make ends meet.

It’s only in Ghana that a certain former speaker of parliament will ransack a bungalow he had stayed in even to the extent of removing floor tiles, cutlery, bed sheets , etc because the quest for material and vain wealth is so inherent in him. I’m sure if he had his way, he would even remove the paints and flowers….

After wasting so much money whilst in office, they ask for more whilst leaving office…….a repugnant Ex-gratia is what they are paid, after a literal robbery of the country. For now, the MPps(what's the right spelling?) are asking for more money. Probably for the concert and comedy they’ve been doing there (I didn’t mention any where)

The misuse of public funds and property is a practical culture for the Damaging, sorry Managing Directors of this country. The district thief, executives and the MPs (Money Perverts) are no exceptions of this apparent "National extortion".

It’s puzzling to know that the President of the country would travel at a cost higher than that which he is going to beg for. I don’t think we are really serious in this country!!!!!! Even a kindergarten pupil wouldn’t practice this kind of preposterous inefficient economic policy.

All we do is beg for money, on behalf of the country, which the same politicians spend on behalf of the same country.

We end up with all sought of sky rocketing deficits and enormous economic burdens, which the tax payer has to bare.

The Miniskirts, sorry Ministers are nothing to write home about either….It’s all about money, money and money. So to achieve this feat, it’s widely speculated that they use their incumbency to engage in “Cocaincracy”.

Presently, it’s purported that the Narcotic Peddlers People and the Notorious Drug Commission are the two main actors in these illicit political games.

The NDC in opposition comes to criticize the then incumbent NPP of corruption, profligate expenditure, apathy and insensitivity to the plight of the Ghanaian public; so the Minister of Information is called to respond to this allegation, and he says “well, it’s very unfortunate that the opposition continues to tow this line of irresponsibility, hurling mischievous criticisms in their quest to malign and impugn the integrity of the President………………..All this arrant balderdash are what we incessantly hear on our air waves.

Now the NDC is in power and they are doing the same things. Capitalizing on Inflationary rates, Prime rates GDP, Stability of the Cedi etc as basis for national development in spite of the obvious fact that those cantankerous figures do not necessarily culminate into the improvement of the lives of the citizenry.
The opposition Parties hold series of Press Conferences to damn the Government and unleash venom on the Government of the day, but all these diversionary tactics are ploys to get the electorates to vote for them. Just to get the power and repeat the same atrocious mistakes, if not worse. “The all die be dies”, “Ye Akan foƆ etc are all significant and relevant irresponsible political statements. The rest are “Greedy bastards”, “Little twit”, “Professor Dolittle” and all the invective expletives you could think of.
