DISCO OF THE SKIN(BLEACHING BE WHAT??) Part II

The skin is a sensitive part of the body, that shouldn’t be tampered with or subjected to any chemical stripping for any reason at all other than for strict medical purposes. To the extent that some men have insatiable interests in “fair” ladies no matter how stinky their behavior or even how they actually look naturally, aside their color evinces the increasing proliferation of bleaching among our young ladies these days, just to catch the eyes of the men.

They parade along the streets with their “tye and dye”, “rice and beans” and bluish green legs, with parts of the skin black, whereas other parts are fair.

This is a stupefying phenomenon that should deter any prudent and sane person to flee from such a disastrous venture but most of us seem not to be concerned about the repercussion and aftermath of our immediate actions and the consequential effects they may have on us.

As I mentioned earlier, the skin is a sensitive part of the body…..there are cells contained within the Dermis and epidermis provide natural yellow white color
A superficial blood vessel provide a blue or red tint, determined by oxygenintent
Melanin produced by melanocytes scattered within the basal layer of the skin

It is the third part which determines how the person’s color is (melanin)….which we try so comprehensively to “wash out”, giving way for ferocious “erosions “on the skin.

Bleaching comes by stripping the skin of its natural pigmentation. In dark skinned people, the pigmentation is the skin’s natural protection from the sun. Bleaching alters the skin’s natural structure and composition, removing and inhibiting the production of the color creating melanin

It can also prevent the formation of melanin in the deeper basal layer of the skin, which will leave the skin lighter, making one vulnerable and susceptible to skin cancer.

People who use bleaching creams end up with blotchy skin, using more creams to try to correct the problems causing them more damage.

No wonder we see people with “disco lighted” and “rainbow” skins who believe in perpetuating the erroneous impression of a prestigious status of a lighter skin. They eventually live to regret the ineluctable disaster they’ve incurred on themselves.

The ingredients which are used to produce these bleaching creams are evidently dangerous to any living being.
Arsenic, even in its initial state is highly poisonous and detrimental to humans, together with mercury; they inhibit the production of melanin, which adequately protects the skin against sunshine.

Hydroquinone or aphahydroxic acids applied will react with the ultraviolet rays of the sun and re oxidize, propelling more pigmentation and premature aging.

Mercury further accumulates within the skin cells, facilitating incomprehensible damages to the skin and its natural radiance.

The users of bleaching creams have a high propensity to poisoning (caused by the dangerous chemicals used in bleaching creams), asthma, leukemia, liver damage, anaphylactic shock and infertility.

Aside from the ferocious menace of bleaching as mentioned above, it is an apparent fact that the toxic and menacing substances used to produce these bleaching creams cause skin cancer, liver damage, kidney damage etc.

Unfortunately, in spite of the inevitable dangers associated with these products, people do not see why they should relent in entering into the realm of prestige, an illusion and fantasy where skin whitening is erroneously believed to be a beauty to behold.

The irony of this phenomenon is the fact that it looks pretty cool for some time, reflecting unfettered exuberance, glow and undisputed radiance, propelling a replica of morning sunshine beauty and inexplicable body scenery. Eventually however, the use of these creams begins to subject bleachers to untold skin conditions, with some blotchy greenish, blue-black skin eruptions on their skin. This effect is good enough to scare any potential bleacher from attempting. Anyways……… furthermore, in their quest to minimize the adverse effects of the bleaching creams, they end up using more bleaching creams, which in actual sense worsen their situation.

For anyone who reads this article, I think the facts are clear and obvious, that  anyone who desires to or potential bleachers  who have become obsessed with changing their beautiful skin into a “new omo, whiter than before” or  “Michaeljacksonizing”  it, should be mindful of the unsightly aftermath, which is evident in the repulsive unevenness of their skin tone and the many other acute inflammatory side effects it has on the organs of the human body, which are most delicate and couldn’t be compromised in anyway, to satisfy the eyes of those who quite(especially male suitors) unnervingly appreciate supposed white or should I say bleached ladies.

DISCO OF THE SKIN (BLEACHING BE WHAT?)

It’s puzzling observing how people would stop at nothing to get their skin colors changed. Women and quite stunningly men these days strive at all cost to comprehensively “whiten” their skin. Seriously speaking, I think bleaching is a fundamental disaster and smacks of a dangerous trend, even worse than an inadvertent desire for suicide.

For many, the mere fact that they have a Lightened skin boosts their confidence and instills in them a sense of beauty. So just to achieve this feat, they spend a fortune on all sorts of assorted cosmetics and ranges of toxic chemicals, oblivious of the impending atrocities, which would be propelled by the relentless use of these ferocious cosmetics.

As Ghana is a “shop/kiosk owning” country, it isn’t any difficult for people to procure these bleaching creams, either from street hawkers, kiosks, stalls, stores and other ventures, who  briskly sell these dangerous chemicals, satisfying the gluttonous demand of customers.

The demand for these products is so inversely elastic that for me, it is only bleaching creams, that actually contradict the economic theory that “the higher the price, the lower the quantity demanded” and vice versa, for these creams, whether the prices are tripled or quadrupled, the demand remains stable…….this stems from the normal Ghanaian impression of justifying quality with a high price. In any case, people do not care about the price; they just want their skin colors changed.

This clearly shows the desperation of people to be fair at all cost.
They end up with multicolored skins, caused by the incessant use of bleaching creams, which are exceptionally conspicuous in any part of the market.

It’s disheartening that people will strive at all at all cost to bleach their skin, sidelining the impending dangers it obviously poses to them consequently.

Evidently, it appears that most people are walking along the perilous dungeons of bleaching and it’s interesting to fathom the enormity of ignoramus of people considering the barrage of dangers these flurry of toxic substances cause and its perilous aftermath.

I see a lot of people, whom I knew back then as dark colored mysteriously turning out to be whiter than white, struggling so hard to be what they’re not.

I honestly thought our women would be satisfied with the wide range of “ghostly Makeup” they use but now, it seems there’s an interesting trend of an “all bleaching campaign”. Today you see someone with his/her natural color and then tomorrow, he/she has a different color. Some people bleach so much that I’m sure if they had the chance, they will even bleach “there”, I mean “there”…………….

Quite unnervingly, an erroneous impression is created of these “skin tripping” chemicals as though they were just skin tones.

Just so, you would appreciate  the importance of what I’m saying, I think it would be of utmost relevance to you and I the depth of atrocious consequences bleaching creams have on the body which in most cases are very conspicuous for everyone to see.

First of all, these bleaching creams are made from highly toxic substances, which have inimical impacts on the skin. Hydroquinone, Mercury (which is severely toxic), Arsenic (Highly Poisonous) and Alpha Hydroxic Acids(Found in most facial chemicals peels) are the four main catastrophic ingredients, used in preparing bleaching cream.

These chemicals comprehensively strip the skin of its coating (melanin) which protects it against the detrimental ultra violet rays of the sun.

To be contd

POLITICAL PORNOGRAPHY (THE FALLACY OF DEMOCRATIC FREE SPEECH) Part- II

A basic characteristic of a democratic country, "Free Speech", has long being misinterpreted. In Ghana, Free Speech erroneously implies insulting and castigating the character of  persons in opposing Parties with offensive and infuriating languages, which propel a far more derogatory insult from the other end.

When these 2 political parties (Narcotic Peddlers People and Notorious Drug Commission) meet on radio, it’s just the same old stories with different casts. The NDC representative would always support government decisions and policies even if he/she knows honestly that it’s wrong. The NPP representative on the other hand would always oppose the government even though he/she might not be oblivious of the importance of certain governmental actions. For me, the only difference between these 2 entities is the apparent fact that when they engage in their usual political hecklings on the radio or TV stations, they are both wrong but the difference is that one would be “wronger”.

The NPP does “the wrong things rightly” and the NDC does the “right things wrongly”.

The rate of verbal violence that is going on in our political scene casts a slur on our moral values and hitherto circumspect nature be-deviling our body politic.

We’ve overstepped the bounds of our democratic credentials into the stinky gutters with the kinds of unsavory remarks, ludicrous and malicious insults, hurled at each other all in the name of partisan politicking, whose coming into power wouldn’t even inure to the benefit the ordinary people used for the “dirty works” but ultimately the elite in the various Parties.

No wonder the so called “foot soldiers”, feeling so used, rant and bark at the President for Jobs, which they’ve failed to provide them with, reneging on their frivolous campaign promises to provide them with lucrative jobs.

I still can’t believe that the youth who have been so much used to gain power have still not learnt from their mistakes. They still continue the verbal harassment of each other in the name of Political Party.

Most importantly, i think it would be of great importance to us, if we should look again at the laughable activities of the "serial callers" who know nothing about Economics, Politics or Law, calling into radio discussions just to hurl inciting insults at other people or perhaps certain activities of the Government, even though they know practically nothing about the intricacies and complexities of what is actually going own.

They go ahead with their inadvertent ignorance, by virtue of the sponsorship they get from the various Political Parties who they speak for. Meanwhile, in real sense, they show their basic flaws and deficiency about the issues, in the way they approach them and the uncivil manner in which they conduct themselves. I seriously think this people should be stopped immediately since their activities are inimical to the development of this country. Their stance are always predictable and partisan, and does not represent the actual views of the ordinary Ghanaian.

This is a democracy where someone, whom I’m sure you would agree with me is a nincompoop, described the President as a Miniature Chimpanzee. He was arrested, but the President consequently caused his release. Instead of being thankful, he continues this repulsive behavior with impunity.

Just yesterday, a twit named “Junkie” sorry John Kumah or whatever made a repulsive and disgusting allegation that the President was a gay because his Party flag bearer was also being insulted. He was arrested but subsequently released upon the direction of the President. When he comes out, he continues his outrageous and insolent behavior. He says “the president ordered for my arrest so if he caused my release, what is news about that"?

This guy’s behavior is irresponsible, horrendous and smacks of improper home training and is a bad example for the youth. Indeed this obscene and vulgar language is expected to be condemned by all but quite stunningly, the NPP comes to support this absolute balderdash.

The media cannot escape the torture of criticism, inferring from the fact that they have contributed significantly to the decay of democracy through the platforms they provide for this insulting and eccentric mavericks, who do nothing but vent horrendous expletives on each other.

This is the kind of impudent stalwarts our contemporary democracy is churning out and we brace ourselves with the illusive impression that we’re highly democratic.

As long as we remain under the erroneous fantasy of an illusory democratic country, this barrage of problems will continue to haunt us until we wake up and smell the coffee; that trying to promote an agenda as a Political Party does not necessarily mean hurling malignant insults and fabricating obnoxious lies about political opponents, and free speech doesn’t imply the malicious insult of others as if we had no moral training and acceptable character orientations in our homes.

For me, the incessant and relentless exchange of despicable insults and the malignant culture of tarnishing the reputation of each other as well as the ostensible lies are nothing short of "Political Pornography" and apparently evinces the desperation of Political Parties to win power at all cost for their own parochial benefits but not as a means to deal decisively with our shambolic economic situation.

They come to power just to satisfy their greedy and avariciously “never satisfying bellyfoooooools” or perhaps their cohorts and friend to the ultimate detriment of the poor tax payer, who is been bombarded each day with ridiculous tax increments and unprecedented high cost of living…the only thing which keeps reducing is inflation ( which can never be bought in the market)…………………………

Talking about Politics could be quite verbose and lengthy. It’s however clear that the issues have been comprehensively tackled and dealt with. I leave this article to your discerning judgment.

POLITICAL PORNOGRAPHY (THE FALLACY OF DEMOCRATIC FREE SPEECH) Part- I

Politics is inevitably about solving problems. It embodies the very essence of man in an attempt to resolve the overwhelming situations that have engulfed our society. Politics in its classical ideals portrays a fundamental institution that deals with the struggle for power not in order to use it in a malignant, nebulous or despotic way but as a means to solve the overwhelming ferocious societal economic diseases.

In Ghana however, Politics is a “dirty game” and seen in the light of derogatory. This is a country where political opponents vent their spleen and unleash all soughts of vituperative and vitriolic attacks on each other, just to make their way to the seat of Government.

I don’t think any virile individual who is Compos Mentis would just fight at all cost just to come to power in his or her quest to help save the country. It is nothing but an inadvertent scheme to climb to the corridors of power to make money.

It’s really irritating and annoying, listening to the campaigns of these deceitful politicians. They promise heaven and earth, or perhaps even more than that just to scheme their way to the corridors of power. But when they come, it’s nothing short of mediocrity and profligate expenditure on ostentatious and luxurious properties for themselves.

This is a country where Ministers sell government bungalows, lands and other state properties to themselves with impunity without any recourse to the plight of the poor tax payer, who is striving so hard in this economically anemic country to make ends meet.

It’s only in Ghana that a certain former speaker of parliament will ransack a bungalow he had stayed in even to the extent of removing floor tiles, cutlery, bed sheets , etc because the quest for material and vain wealth is so inherent in him. I’m sure if he had his way, he would even remove the paints and flowers….

After wasting so much money whilst in office, they ask for more whilst leaving office…….a repugnant Ex-gratia is what they are paid, after a literal robbery of the country. For now, the MPps(what's the right spelling?) are asking for more money. Probably for the concert and comedy they’ve been doing there (I didn’t mention any where)

The misuse of public funds and property is a practical culture for the Damaging, sorry Managing Directors of this country. The district thief, executives and the MPs (Money Perverts) are no exceptions of this apparent "National extortion".

It’s puzzling to know that the President of the country would travel at a cost higher than that which he is going to beg for. I don’t think we are really serious in this country!!!!!! Even a kindergarten pupil wouldn’t practice this kind of preposterous inefficient economic policy.

All we do is beg for money, on behalf of the country, which the same politicians spend on behalf of the same country.

We end up with all sought of sky rocketing deficits and enormous economic burdens, which the tax payer has to bare.

The Miniskirts, sorry Ministers are nothing to write home about either….It’s all about money, money and money. So to achieve this feat, it’s widely speculated that they use their incumbency to engage in “Cocaincracy”.

Presently, it’s purported that the Narcotic Peddlers People and the Notorious Drug Commission are the two main actors in these illicit political games.

The NDC in opposition comes to criticize the then incumbent NPP of corruption, profligate expenditure, apathy and insensitivity to the plight of the Ghanaian public; so the Minister of Information is called to respond to this allegation, and he says “well, it’s very unfortunate that the opposition continues to tow this line of irresponsibility, hurling mischievous criticisms in their quest to malign and impugn the integrity of the President………………..All this arrant balderdash are what we incessantly hear on our air waves.

Now the NDC is in power and they are doing the same things. Capitalizing on Inflationary rates, Prime rates GDP, Stability of the Cedi etc as basis for national development in spite of the obvious fact that those cantankerous figures do not necessarily culminate into the improvement of the lives of the citizenry.
The opposition Parties hold series of Press Conferences to damn the Government and unleash venom on the Government of the day, but all these diversionary tactics are ploys to get the electorates to vote for them. Just to get the power and repeat the same atrocious mistakes, if not worse. “The all die be dies”, “Ye Akan foƆ etc are all significant and relevant irresponsible political statements. The rest are “Greedy bastards”, “Little twit”, “Professor Dolittle” and all the invective expletives you could think of.

THE SHADDY REALITIES OF GHANAIAN MOBILE NETWORKS IN THE LIGHT OF MOBILE NUMBER PORTABILITY

I don’t think I can really point out the unusual sentiment that is pushing me to write about the telecommunication networks in Ghana. It’s probably the fun that’s going on with all of them striving so hard to win over customers.

When I write, I don’t intend to malign or unnecessarily dwell on the derogatory aspect of entities. I just write what i see and what the facts are. Based on this assertion, I think it’s prudent for me to briefly share my views on the various networks in Ghana and what they’ve been up to in relation to the numerous"funfair of advertisements" and apparent desperation for more customers, whom they can't even adequately satisfy.

Quite recently, The Mobile Number Portability policy, or whatever they call it had begun full implementation, prompting the hitherto insensitive, unreliable and evidently inefficient Telecommunication networks to add more value to their operations and pay ardent attention to the needs of the consumer.

The inability of a person to switch from a network to another and still retain that same number had been a major hurdle that inhibited or militated against customers’ ability to switch from a literally despotic power wielding Network to the other which is relatively better.

However, with the kind of platform that mobile portability creates, ensuring that one switches to another network without a change in number, one can’t help but to laud this ingenious idea and hope for the best.

What I like about this whole thing is the hype it brings in competition, which instantly propels quality of service, reduction in price of network products etc at the advantage of the consumer. This has even culminated in the various humanitarian agendas that had, have and are being undertaken by the various Networks

Neither does the Most Thievery Network fail in providing timely intervention to our anemic society.   VOODOOFON, sorry Vodafone doesn’t fall short either in this respect.

Nor does TIGOAT……. Or EXPIREDSO  relent in the interspersed building of schools, constructing of boreholes, financing public health etc………………

Those networks who hitherto thought they could flaunt and flex their monopoly because of the apparent assertion that customers wouldn’t be able to divert to other networks since they fear losing their numbers would have to start rethinking, which of course I guess they’ve started.

The adverts are so much and it’s not even funny!!!!!!!!! Some are just annoying and disgusting and one can’t even make a head and tail of what their putting forward.

Perhaps they’ve become so desperate that their ability to put ideas into thoughts and creativity has suddenly being dashed by the glaring truth of Mobile Number Portability.

For me, I see this on a brighter side. The fact is that but virtue of the initiation of MNP, the various Mobile Networks have been put on their toes and have suddenly being “thought the thing”, that the customer is always right. I’m sure this has in a way preempted certain frivolous promotions, giving way for a more transparent and crystal clear initiatives, devoid of outrageous and despicably ferocious promotions, which were aimed at winning customers at all cost for their(The networks') own benefit without any empathy to the plight of the customer. This had really changed and I think the networks deserve to be patted at the back.

Of course one would agree with me that the Networks (service providers), are sometimes despicable and attribute congenital flaws in basic service provision. I simply can’t come to terms with the way we’ve been bullied for so long. Even now with the MNP, they still maneuver their antics and prowess in ultimately squeezing the cash out of consumers in a subtle way. I don’t utterly blame them because they are not NGO’s in anycase…

But I don’t think that gives them the impetus, the effrontery, the audacity and the incumbency to practically subject the consumer into a literal “tree bank”, where they could pluck their money based on their own predispositions, considering how they tactically device ingenious means to make the money(from so called promotions, bonuses etc).

Their promotions are nothing to write home about. They promise heaven and earth but always renege on this flurry of outrageous promises. I think they could do better.

I wonder why we still call them Networks if they don't work at all, so the obvious name that comes to mind is NetUnwork, because for now, that's what they represent......

For one particular Network, calling their helpline is an effort in futility. One Hour is too short to get a response from them. The other time, it took me over 1 and half hours to get to them and i didn't even get any sensible result from them to address the issue i had with my chip.

I won’t  succumb to the temptation of evincing the various networks who perpetuate these frivolities but I think you all would unanimously agree with me that these networks have robbed us for so long and it’s high time they stopped these “Jacketed thievery” sealed under the obnoxious and repugnant impression of promotions and bonuses. This to me is just a case of robbing “Peter to Pay Paul”.

The “pendulum” of this situation is how it would be a sheer mischief for anyone to say in a malignant contest that the networks have been entirely worthless and a bunch of “money suckers”. The fact weighs between the good and the bad.

Vodafone for example have undertaken several humanitarian projects which attest to the fact that they have not entirely been snobbish of the plights of the society. MTN and AIRTEL have also been paramount and conspicuous in the building of schools, supporting Brilliant but needy students as well funding medical bills for people who couldn’t afford. These I think are steps in the right direction and needs to be positively elevated to highlight the enormous achievements they’ve chalked.

This does not however, shield the apparent truth that the networks have been abysmal in service provision, but rather interested in hoax promotions, incessant  impressions of low tariffs( which they strive cunningly  to recover through “unethical” means)……….so they say “ Free weekend calls, or double bonus, or from…. To ….., u could pay this less, free texts” it’s only an alien from space who wouldn’t read into these cantankerous offers and bonuses because they will certainly recover every single offer they’ve made.

They trumpet a barrage of apparently incessant bonuses which do not yield any result but a mischievous scheme to sift the “cash out of trash”. So today it’s an issue of “buy one, get two free”……and people fall for this, not knowing that they would surely account for every pesewa they’ve enjoyed as bonuses.

Some say they are waiting for GLO to redeem them from the apparent insensitivity and empty bonus and promotion advert sprees that are being practiced in the Mobile Network field. But who knows?, maybe they would also join the fierce race of office extortion that is going on and probably overtake its predecessors,

What is important is that, even though these networks namely MTN, VODAFON, AIRTEL,TIGO, EXPRESSO  continue in their interesting escapades, one cannot downplay or simply prejudice the enormous humanitarian projects they’ve undertaken and the best they do to ensure customer satisfaction.

A BRIEF STINT WITH MTN

Since its inception in 2007, MTN had continued to roll out relevant products and programs that instill a sense of practical competition, which in the long run culminates into the utmost advantage of the consumer.

I think its marketing team deserves "a pat on the back" for instituting strategic marketing values, which benefit both the company and consumers as well.

The mobile money service is quite convenient, considering the massive waves it makes in sustaining a cashless economy.

The 5am-8 am 1 pesewa per minute comes in handy.  The company has also made significant progress in its cooperate social responsibilities.

The MTN internet service is evidently fast, but too expensive. Sometimes, their network too becomes handicapped, well but not as adverse as the others.......

MTN has continued in its unrelenting quest to improve the capacity base of it’s already over 9 million customers. Introducing a DVB-H live broadcast which supports the transmission of live T.V on the mobile phone was a priceless invention.

I reckon we all know about the ingenious strategies of MTN to capture the cream of the market but honestly speaking, if their adverts could be so controversial, in reference to the so called GAVET, I shudder to think if the other networks which had so much been indicted would have any other strategy which would comprehensively wipe out the impact of the GAVET advert.

Sometimes I wonder if the other networks have any Marketing officials at all. Their adverts are porous, monotonous and stunningly annoying. The adverts are practically a cacophony of incessant noises and lack any sense of intellect and reasoning.

In spite of its ineluctably massive feats, MTN should be more conscious of the plight of consumers, increase the enormity of customer satisfaction, based on improvement in network quality and its ability to rectify technical hitches promptly.

Its’ not just a matter of bringing on board a barrage of customers without putting in place strategic policies that would adequately cater for their needs.

If they really need to sustain their customer base and prevent them from switching to the other networks because of the advent of mobile number portability( where moving to other networks doesn’t change their number, which was their initial fear), they better improve upon their services to avoid “customer poaching”.

And now I really want to write as if I’m talking…….but I would try not to cast invective expletives………The fact is that sometimes when you are calling the MTN office helpline, it takes a pretty long time for them to respond, 1 hr is even too short. or have they been sleeping?. They really need to improve upon this basic slur. The only thing which is preventing me from switching is because I think MTN Is relatively better.

For me, honestly I think MTN deserves thumbs up for their incisive, concise, and practical programs promotions that I think are sometimes tricky well because they’re not NGOs, in spite of their many flaws and shortcomings in relation to customer satisfaction etc.

But relatively, based on my own deductive and empirical researches, I think MTN is the best network in Ghana, at least for now………………..

UNIVERSITY OF MONEY???????????????, U.G CATASTROPHIC UPWARD FEES ADJUSTMENT

I simply can’t come to terms with the apparently ridiculous and preposterous increment in the University of Ghana Fees. The authorities had told us bluntly that increment per year is 10% but as it turns out, the fees had been increased by over some 30%.

Most of us had seriously thought that a change in administration of the V.C would have culminated into a decreasing pressure on parents and students in relation to school fees. It’s however disheartening and incomprehensible the kinds of obnoxious and repugnant increment that had been effected.

I don’t want to subject the University authorities with an avalanche of disgust and disdain without the Government having a fair share of the blame. Indeed if the explanations of the University authorities is anything to go by, stating government apathy towards subsidizing fees, then one could deductively conclude that the Government had proved inefficient and invariably ineffective in advancing tertiary education.

Trying to understand the university authorities make me sick….. The first instance of sheer disregard to students is the university’s inability to give us a bill when we vacated and I guess all this was done to ensure that they factor in all sought of implausible items culminating into a sky rocketing fees, which I think is indeed outrageously exorbitant.

When the fees were finally released, I saw clearly a statement indicating that 50% of the fees should be paid before the first semester and the remainder in the second semester. When the SRC registered their displeasure about the insensitive hike in the school fees, the university conveniently and perhaps mischievously highlighted the flexibility of Payment of the fees, indicating a 50: 50% per semester payment, creating an erroneous impression that the flexibility was in response to the obvious agitation by students.

These guys are really annoying!!!!!!!! After increasing the fees so much, they even have the impetus and audacity to direct us to have registered by the 5th of August. I don’t think this is fair to students by any standards, it’s quite despotic on the part of the authorities to be meting out this kinds of treatments to the studentship.

If these trends should continue, then I wouldn’t be startled if in the near future, we are asked to even pay our fees in dollars.

Well students should in any case do well to pay their fees promptly anyways because I don’t think the University would tolerate any default especially when there is some atom of flexibility in it, considering how insensitive they are sometimes(not always).

I think it’s elusive for the university to try to play pranks on us…waiting for us so long and then astronomically increasing the fees.

With such a malicious school fees increment, I hope the lecturers would eschew their incessant late comings and accept the fact that we pay for what we get and if I say pay, I mean we pay very well.

Well, the University did some good things though, ensuring a shift of paradigm in initially overcrowded and filthy university halls into what I expect to be significantly better. This doesn’t go without some few misgivings I have about the implementation of this policy….. but I will just hold it.

For me, I think the increment of school fees is an outright wickedness and a gradual scheme to cut short the education of those who might default. It is a wicked and inconsiderate move, which I utterly condemn, regardless of whether it was caused by the government or not.

My conclusion about this treacherous “upward adjustment” is that we would pay the money, “ceteris Paribus”, but the authorities should be conscious of providing impeccable and effective service to us the students. And I don’t think we would tolerate any malfunctioning devices in our halls and any apathetic demeanor of any lecturer. “We ain’t gonna tolerate any arrant balderdash this time”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TAKING A STROLL WITH THE DEVIL?(PERVASIVE HOMOSENSELESSNESS)Part lll (The Condluding Story)

(Well it wasn’t my intention to make this article a “Kyeiwaa Part 1-13” or an “Agyakoo 1,2,3 and 4” kind of thing but the issue of Homosexuality is quite lengthy and needs to be comprehensively tackled. Here is the concluding part….)

........Neither does the Qur’an support homosexuality. “The Holy book of the Moslems” makes it clearer.

In Yusufali 26:16, it reads “And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your mates? Nay ye are people of transgression.

Koran 4:16 states, “If 2 men among you are guilty of lewdness, punish them both. If they repent and amend, leave them alone”.

Also, the Qur’an states in Qur’an 7:80-81 that “for ye practice your lusts on men in preference to women. Ye are indeed a people transgressing beyond bounds”.

It also states in Qur’an 27:55 that “would ye really approach men in your lusts, rather or in a man? Nay ye are a people ignorant”.

Additionally, the Qur’an states in 26:165-166 of its books that “of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males and leave those whom Allah created for you to be your mates? Nay ye are a people of transgressing”.

From all indications, it’s obvious that even the Qur’an doesn’t in anyway support homosexuality. It evidently makes it more apparent how lecherous and perverse this act is.

Our traditional values, norms and beliefs don’t by any sphere of standards support this single “unnatural act”. Not even do the worst of cultures “elatedly” accept the proliferation of homosexuality. The fact is that it’s just not right, it’s wrong.

It’s an obvious slur on humanity. Animals do not even engage in this libidinous obsession. And quite stunningly, humans engage in this act with impunity. “Penetrating where you’re supposed to free your bowels is nasty and extremely iniquitous”.

Apart from its apparently detestable nature religion wise, it has extreme health implications. For the men, I heard some had to wear “pampers” to prevent messing on themselves like babies, since the passage has been “comprehensively drilled” by “the rod”.

This is what happens if we decide to manipulate the socially and religiously upright standards and do whatever we want to do, without any recourse to what is morally acceptable. If the “Anus” was the right “apparatus” for “sexual intercourse”, why would they have to wear pampers after “the act”? Why should they suffer “down there” from what is supposed to be enjoyable?

The complexity of Homosexuality evinces its elusiveness. It’s a difficult reality that evades the thought of man. It is almost practically inexplicable. What makes this worse is the fact that no one has the moral right to judge any human being. Talking about this issue without being tempted to clearly stipulate your position about it is as well hypocritical.

To be fair to the "ass drillers"(homosexuals), because of explicit human prejudice against them, I’ve concluded, highlighting a theme from John 17:12, that they have not yet been lost. In any case, their sin is not any different from adulterous, illicit and unrepentant fornicators.

They should be treated as human beings and tolerated as such. They should not be made to feel as though they are unwanted and maliciously prejudiced, sidelined and stigmatized.  It doesn’t also mean that a platform should be created for them to perpetuate their illicit affairs.

Additionally, mischievous criticisms and undue suppression of the rights(where right doesn't imply that they should be allowed to practice their devilish desires but right as in right to life) of homosexuals should be stopped in compliance with the words of Jesus that “one should remove the log in his own eyes before removing the spec in another person’s eye”. Charting the course of undue subversion is quite hypocritical and is not what we need to curb this unruly behavior.

It’s most unfair to institute ferocious judgment on homosexual because those who do that might  not   necessarily be innocent of other pervasive and immoral practices.

This is not to say that homosexuals are right, the implications of my initial comments are that, sin is a terrible thing, and particularly for homosexuality, it can be unanimously affirmed as an impediment. In essence, it is the sin which is uncalled for and not the sinner.

My relentless problem with this people is their blatant refusal to eschew this unnatural libidinous desire and accept that they have a problem which needs to be solved. It’s really baffling that a virile man would want to have carnal knowledge of his fellow man. This is a repugnant deviation!!!!!!!!!

For me, I have no doubt in my mind whatsoever that this “atrocious and preposterous precedence” (homosexuality) is by all standards a perilous phenomenon and needs not be accepted in our society. This is not to suggest however that they should be taunted, subjected to streams of invectives or totally sidelined. Indeed homosexuals are human beings who are equally loved by God and whom Jesus died for as well. It is for such that he came to the world. Morality is essential but shouldn’t be unnecessarily applied to propel people into the peril of suicide. What they need is counsel and support, to desist from their detestable and socially unacceptable act but not a platform for them to continue the perpetration of this "Homosenselessness".

Anyone who reads this should have the enlightenment to discern the issues with an open mind and utmost candidness. It is only by these virtues that we would learn to appreciate the intricacies of this “unnatural act” and not treat it as just a libidinous desire of a pervert but that they suffer from an unconventional sexual paralysis, that needs be corrected with a human phase to ensure a harmonious society……………...........

TAKING A STROLL WITH THE DEVIL?(PERVASIVE HOMOSENSELESSNESS) Part II

Those who rather unfortunately espouse this idea of homosexuality cite a lot of biblical explanations to buttress their points. I’ve have no doubt at all that if the devil himself could quote the bible (Even though he twists it to satisfy his own whims and caprices), then it’s not implausible that members of the “faith” would cite certain instances in the Bible to defend this perversely lascivious phenomenon.

The first instance they give in the bible is John 8:7, that,  “……He that is without sin let him be the first to cast a stone at her. This in other words for them, means homosexuals should be given a room to live a free life.

My response to this obnoxious and deficient interpretation of the bible is that Jesus did prevent Mary Magdalene from being stoned, but it doesn’t mean he condoned her sin, Jesus told her, “go and sin no more”. ‘This should be clear to any student of the Bible that Jesus didn’t condemn her but obviously frowns on her sins. Jesus did not create a platform for her to continue her evil ways as how these so called churches who have started ordaining gay priests and solemnizing unions have sought to create.

Perhaps Luke 15:7 was referring to this churches (I’m not saying this as a matter of fact but a mere suggestion as a student of the Bible) when it said “you hypocrites, Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you….. These people honor me with their lips but their hearts are far from me, their teachings are but rules thought by men”.

Further, they (those Christians who espouse homosexuality) argue that most of the castigations and apparent detests against homosexuality were instances in the Old Testament of the Bible. In essence, according to them, if certain practices like an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a woman caught in an of adultery should be stoned to death etc. are no more tenable, then it’s prudent to suggest that homosexuality is acceptable since Jesus himself said he had redeemed us from the curse of the Law. They quote incessant scriptures to buttress their point, which I’ve painstakingly researched and listed below.
  • DEUTERONOMY 22:13-21
If it is discovered that a bride is not a virgin, the Bible demands that she be executed by stoning immediately.
  • DEUTERONOMY 22:22
If a married person has sex with someone else's husband or wife, the Bible commands that both adulterers be stoned to death.
  • MARK 10:1-12
Divorce is strictly forbidden in both Testaments, as is remarriage of anyone who has been divorced.
  • LEVITICUS 18:19
The Bible forbids a married couple from having sexual intercourse during a woman's period. If they disobey, both shall be executed.
  • MARK 12:18-27
If a man dies childless, his widow is ordered by biblical law to have intercourse with each of his brothers in turn until she bears her deceased husband a male heir.
  • DEUTERONOMY 25:11-12
if a man gets into a fight with another man and his wife seeks to rescue her husband by grabbing the enemy's genitals, her hand shall be cut off and no pity shall be shown her.
They cite these quotations as evidence that  the above practices, though in the Bible are presently unacceptable reiterating Paul’s epistle to the Galatians, stating , “Christ has redeemed us form the curse of the Law”(Galatians 3:13).

Indeed their arguments are somehow sound, and logically deductive. Their fundamental flaws on these issues are their inability to deduce the interrelationship between the Old Testament and New Testament. Facts being that any law in the Old Testament, which was no longer necessary were adequately “amended” by Jesus, he talked about vengeance, swearing, adultery, murder etc. In those instances where instant justices were meted out, Jesus clearly showed a way. For instance Jesus said, “If your brother sins against you, he should be forgiven unlike the Old Testament's teaching of a tooth for a tooth and an eye for an eye.

Never in the Bible did Jesus affirm the perversely, illicit and stupendous act of Homosexuality. He provided we sinners the option to change and offered himself for our ultimate salvation; he loved sinners but hates sin. He never condoned any act of sin.

Apparently, Homosexuality not by my own convictions but based on the Bible is just not right. It’s wrong and needs to be corrected. This is not a matter of human rights. Should it then be that people who are predisposed to commit adultery, rape, incest, arm robbery and all soughts of unscrupulous behaviors be allowed because it’s an instinctual characteristic of them? If such are not allowed, then why do we condone this attitude of homosexuality even in churches to the extent of ridiculous same sex marriages?

I do not subscribe to chasing them out or sacking them from the churches, (of course Jesus didn’t condemn Mary Magdalene but offered her the option of salvation) rather, such people should be counseled to eschew their “unnatural instincts” and reprimanded. Indeed in Luke 17, the bible says “Things that cause people to sin are bound to come but woe to that person through whom they come…….if a brother sins, rebuke him and if he regrets, forgive him”

TAKING A STROLL WITH THE DEVIL?(PERVASIVE "HOMOSENSELESSNESS")-Part 1

For me, I think homosexuality is an inimical disaster. It’s a nasty thing to do.  It’s filthy and uncultured. It’s a “terrible and unnatural phenomenon”. The least we can do is to condemn this “abnormal nonsense”. It’s disheartening and unnerving to note however that there are some people who actually advocate this “social disorder”.

From all standards of human imagination, I can’t simply fathom this absolute ineptitude, which the society has become so inundated with. Even animals do not practice this lecherous abnormality.

One doesn’t need to be “stainless” to talk about the moral decadence that has engulfed our society because the standards of morality have become so low to the extent of a probable extinction.

Most importantly the proliferation of Homosexuality cannot by any sphere of imagination be condoned. It’s uncultured, unethical, "unchristian", "unmoslem" and doesn’t even meet the basic standards of humanity.

It’s an indictment on our social and religious institutions that this social disorder is beginning to gain grounds. It is one thing to say the act and practice of homosexuality is illegal and another to say it’s antonymous to our religious beliefs (Christianity, Islam or even African Indigenous religion). All these religions ideally oppose homosexuality comprehensively and absolutely.

It’s stupefying however that those who commit this “unnatural atrocity” are members of the various religions.

One of the reasons why I detest this indecency and uncouth behavior is the obvious risk it poses to our society. How can a man marry a man? Or a woman shamelessly marry another woman. Indeed this is disgusting to say the least. It’s an act of gross stupendous abnormality which is in itself an affront to our societal values.

The most infuriating aspect of this ludicrous attitude is the creeping in of religious influence.  Certain churches have started solemnizing unions between homosexuals and ordaining them as priests.

In spite of my initial proposition of not entirely taunting and “coming hard at” religious entities, I beg to repudiate this stance. I dare to say that their(religious groups who support homosexuality) actions contradict the Bible in all respects and casts a slur on the Christian faith. Without mincing words, I state unambiguously that they are obviously wrong.

Some people whom I’m sure are not well in tuned with the basic principles of morality and the intricacies of the bible make the spurious and erroneous arguments to reiterate their assertions, citing most importantly John 8:7 to buttress their point of supporting homosexuality.

I guess the "homosenseless", sorry homosexuals don’t even like the kind of repugnant name they (I don’t even like it myself) have and the derogatory impact it has on the society hence they change their names to gay (which means joy, merry, happiness etc), creating a rather erroneous impression of themselves.

One might wonder the kinds of orientation which prompts people to be homosexuals or “gay”. In essence, I’ve come out with the three kinds of homosexuals in the society.

Those who are outwardly male but posses female genetic makeup and psychological characteristics and vi
    ce versa.
Those influenced by the pressures of peers
Those who do it by their own free will, relegating all essence of values to the background (Probably   instigated by the devil).

These I believe are the total makeup of the homosexual society. It’s a comprehensive one if you ask me. It caters for all the perverse influences that propel this act.

It had been scientifically proven by some American Psychologists that Homosexuality has nothing to do with abnormality or malfunctioning of the brain. I’m tempted to believe this assertion because I unequivocally hold to the proposition that homosexuality is a way of life, an illicit culture, which unfortunately has been diffused into our values and norms.

The Bible is quite evasive about Homosexuality but on some few occasions, it unambiguously and categorically stipulated how the LORD detests homosexuality. Let’s now take a trail to Bible (for me, the Bible an essential yardstick to measure what is wrong or not)……..the bible in spite of the many spurious interpretations given to it cannot be sidelined in this sensitive issue)

In 2Peter 1:4, the Bible clearly states “Through these he has given us his great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires”.

For me the bible couldn’t be any clearer, what could be the evil desires if it’s not homosexual inclusive. It doesn’t mean that its only homosexuality that the bible is referring to but at least it is one of them.

In his epistle to the Corinthians, Paul enumerated in clear categorical terms (1 Cor 6:9-11), “Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived …….neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male Prostitutes nor homosexuals offenders will inherit the kingdom of God. And that was how some of you were but you were washed".

I don’t think its practically relevant to expound on this because it’s obvious and categorical

Romans 1:18-32 states, “the wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all godlessness and wickedness of men, who suppress the truth by their wickedness”. This verse outlines the consequences for those who decide to be oblivious of the truth and inadvertently twist the bible to satisfy their own ferocious and illicit desires.

The book of Lev. 18:22 and 20:15 paints a vivid picture of Homosexuality, it reads “do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman, that is detestable"..This couldn’t be any clearer……

Genesis 19 elaborated on how Lot would rather, her daughters were sexually exploited than allowing his visitors who were males from any sexual intimacy with the men of Sodom who attacked his house.
Never in the Bible had same sex ever being endorsed, it is a perverse and illicit thing to do and had never being in the order of nature.

Indeed in Genesis 2:24, the Bible says, “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife and they will become one”. This inexplicable peril of homosexuality had never being affirmed by the bible.................................to be contd.

PROLIFERATION OF ALCOHOLISM, A NEW FOUND RELIGION-(DROWING IN THE PASSION OF ALCOHOL)

Everyone talks about culture and it seems we only talk about the positive sides of it. One of the inimical aspects of culture we’ve been nursing and nurturing for some time now is alcoholism.

The proliferation of numerous alcoholic breverages does not help matters. There is an “Akpeteshie” joint in every corner in Ghana. There is no where you would turn to without finding such stalls, with “service Providers” briskly providing service to their “loyal” customers.

In recent times, I’ve watched with keen interest the enthusiastic and aura filled alcohol adverts on our screens. I must admit that the marketers of these products do their jobs pretty well, considering how they are easily able to capture the cream of their targets through the, humor, wit, sarcasm and perhaps comedy they portray in their adverts.

Take for instant the cargo advert, one couldn’t help but laugh at the obviously interesting scenes which were ingenuously created. A fat looking lady shaking her mountainous ass and a Chinese man who couldn’t resist such an enormous and mesmerizing figure, propelling a sudden earthquake just by jumping, not forgetting the unfettered laughter of the Chinese man. Whatever that means, it sort of attracted a lot of people.

The “Pusher” advert to an extent has the same theme as Cargo gin bitters. Other “contemporary” alcoholic gin bitters, which have enjoyed massive patronage and airtime play, include Atinka Coffee Gin bitters, Agya Appiah bitters, Kasapreko K20, Kasapreko Alomo Bitters, Barons dry gin etc.

What is worth noting however is that these adverts are pivoted around “half naked” girls and since they know that the youth are much interested in such lasciviousness, it doesn’t take long before their set objective is achieved.

Alcohol according to credible research is known to contribute significantly to acute health related problems. Upon a detailed and comprehensive research and analysis, I chanced upon what I think would be of strategic relevance to “up and coming Alcoholics” and others “already living the dream” about the dangers of alcoholism and its abuse.

  • Serious liver problems (alcoholic liver disease).
  • Some stomach disorders.
  • Pancreatitis (severe inflammation of the pancreas).
  • Mental health problems, including depression and anxiety.
  • Sexual difficulties such as impotence.
  • Muscle and heart muscle disease.
  • High blood pressure.
  • Damage to nervous tissue.
  • Accidents - drinking alcohol is associated with a much increased risk of accidents. In particular, injury and death from fire and car crashes. About 1 in 7 road deaths are caused by drinking alcohol.
  • Some cancers (mouth, gullet, liver, colon and breast).
  • Obesity (alcohol has many calories).
  • Damage to an unborn baby in pregnant women.
  • Alcohol dependence (addiction).
According to research, Alcohol is a toxic substance for the body’s cells. It works as a poison for the cells having a hygroscopic effect, which eventually leads to total cell destruction.

Consequently, alcohol is a stress factor for the entire body causing an increased blood pressure. High amounts of substances like sugar, lipids and cortisone are released into the bloodstream.

Also, blood tests on alcoholics or “friends of the bottle” indicates lack of Calcium, vitamin D and phosphates, which increases the propensity of “bone fractures”.

The body uses big amounts of energy to eliminate the alcohol. This energy is usually used by the body's organs to function normally. The liver uses more than 80 percent of its available oxygen to metabolize the alcohol. The alcohol becomes a "metabolic paralizer".

The cardiac and cerebral cells are seriously affected by the alcohol because these cells also use a high amount of oxygen.

According to a 2005 study by Kenneth J. Mukamal, M.D. and colleagues published in the journal "Annals of Internal Medicine," consumption of more than two drinks per day may be associated with an increased risk for ischemic stroke, which is an interruption of blood flow to the brain.

Consistent and unabated intake of alcohol increases the risk of Liver Leucosis which are usually diagnosed very late. Increased alcohol consumption propels an additional catabolic mechanism of the alcohols called (Microtonal Ethanol Oxidation System). This explains why it’s very addictive.

Pancreatic Infections eventually leads to diabetes. Furthermore, alcohol consumption increases the risk of Oesthogian Cancer, i.e. Oral Laryngeal, Intestinal Cancer and breast cancer among Women.

In females, consistent intake of alcohol could damage the fetus (Alcoholic embriopathy).

The most delicate and perhaps sensitive organ of the body, which stands a great risk of permanent destruction and total chaos, is the brain, because an incessant intake of alcohol actually mars the degeneration of the nervous cells.

Each time you drink, thousands of nervous cells are destroyed initiating another disastrous ailment namely, “Organic Phychosyatrom”.

A 2003 Meta analysis by Kristi Reynolds and colleagues in the Journal of American Association stipulates that “Heavy drinking boosts the relative risk of stroke.

Taking alcohol is that risky and can actually be a matter of buying one’s own death. I can’t help but think about the folks, (the youth and women inclusive) in my village, who have gradually turned “alcoholism” into a sought of cult, a religion they’ve become so obsessed with.

Some people can drink so much that a mere sipping of a glass of water could make them drunk. They take alcohol like water, and they think it’s funny. They are always drunk, and so their actions are not predetermined by their own thoughts and intents. The alcohol is their “lawyer”. What a pathetic malice, that one could inflict on himself!!!

Drunkards give so much reverence to alcohol, to the extent that they knock on the door of sellers as early as 5:00 am to “break the fast”.

It’s stupefying to note that alcohol could be so disastrous but people continue to abuse this drug without thinking about how inimical it would be to their health. In Ghana, we don’t even take 45% or 11%, which are very high levels of Alcoholic content in themselves. We rather take the revered “painyin de painyin”, aka spirit, bka Akpeteshie, which I consent could contain 99.9% alcohol. That’s what people wash their mouth with, party with and enjoy with.

So this is just it, if you are sipping down the “toxic spirit”, be conscious of the fact that you are just inviting afflictions and more or less incurable diseases to yourself, and when your liver, pancreas, brain, nervous system, kidney and other delicate organs in your body begin to shred like beef, then you shouldn’t forget how intentionally oblivious you were of the dangers associated with alcoholism and alcohol abuse and be mindful of the adage that says “smart people learn from their mistakes and the wise ones learn from the mistake of others”

INTELLECTUAL ILLITERACY

It’s ineluctably appalling and stupendous listening to purported intellectuals or the so called elites, who do nothing practical but speak arrant balderdash on the air-waves, all in the name of Partisan politics, relegating to the background the need to apply their educational competence in tackling the pertinent issues of our dear nation, which is infested with “economic virus” and literally under medical surveillance.

Sometimes, I just wish we had a Team of Medical Doctors, who would constantly diagnose the litany of economic problems we have.  Which have consequently become inherent in us since we see it as an absolute normality with a stethoscope or probably as some politicians suggest (that the economy is an intensive care), a transfusion of blood would be a soothing initial backup for our “acute economic anemia”.

The fact is that our problems have gone beyond politicians and economists, who are themselves more confused than the layman.

These individuals (which includes you and I), who posses numerous doctorate degrees and high ranking positions rather than engaging in practical academic researches and increasing productivity respectively, that would to an extent culminate into  fruitful ventures, which would subsequently lead to  an improvement in the living standards of Ghanaians are predisposed to rambling "Academic nonsense" and dabbling in "Economic (Political) precipitation".

To buttress my assertions, I would site an instance where the Economists, or perhaps “Partisan Economist” churn out gibberishes like, “The GDP of the country has been engrossed in an insulating deficiency, which propels an overwhelming increase in the Inflation rate, stirring a massive and incomprehensible hike in the prime rate; this situation has further led to a substantial decline in the Human development Index and hence any further government expenditure, would in the short run submerge the Net National Product at factor cost into a whooping deficit of the country’s total net reserves. In other to subvert this impediment on our economic fortunes, it would be prudent for us to inculcate a sense of pragmatism into the marginal revenues and total cost expenditure on ostentatious goods”.

For goodness sake what was that? A cacophony of contradictory statements;which i can evidently state are  elusive statements fed to as "from a feeding bottle" like babies, just to “throw dust in our eyes” because they presume we wouldn’t understand these nebulous statements.

I don’t think there are more suitable or more derogative terms to describe these avaricious individuals who are consciously in tuned to their parochial interests.

Essentially, this avalanche of individuals, do not have any idea about how to decisively deal with the relevant issues that confront us.

Anyone who listens ardently to the news or conducts a credible research any where other than “our part of the world” would affirmatively endorse the ineluctable fact that, unlike Ghana, they've benefited immensely from the researches that had been conducted by their universities and how these researches have yielded fruitful results in tackling societal issues.

Credible facts show that solar panels have been built, cars, mobile phones, architectural designs and other artifacts that are of technological relevance have been developed by virtue of scientific application and ingenuity .

For Ghana, all we do is prattle in political exegeses and talk plenty of “academic nonsense” full of theories without any practical aspect. This is a country where a PhD holder in Mechanical Engineering sends his, faulty car to a mechanic and the most qualified and technically competent person in an organization sits in the office while amateurs and novices do the actual work.

A bird once whispered to me in confidence that the only thing we have comparative advantage over in terms of production is polythene bags and toilet roll, which is as hard as corn husks. Eventually, it is in these same rubbers that we do the "thing" and throw it about with impunity, worsening the plight of our already filthy city.

We’ve engrossed ourselves in “A fallacy of fantasies” with the cantankerous ideology that “it shall be well”.

The fact is that if we do not pragmatically deal with our educational system, which has been so much politicized to the impedimental detriment of students, this trend of churning out “intellectual illiterates” would forever remain with us. As at now I don’t even know if there’s any sensible thing our younger ones learn, or which syllabus is applicable.

It’s also most unnerving that these syllabuses or what I call “contradictory scraps” are not made available to students just as it’s done in the Universities, making the students ignorant of the set standards, which propels them to learn “Non-Sylla”, thus contributing to this conundrum of massive failures in the B.E.C.E.

I don’t in the least blame the students or perhaps pupils, fact being that if they knew what they should learn, they wouldn’t have failed so comprehensively. In any case, if they should all pass I shudder to think if the S.S.S, not single spine, well S.H.S we have in the country could admit them all.

I would definitely talk about the imprudent expediency of political leaders and how they’re gradually playing “Chaskele” with the future of students but certainly not now.

Indeed as I indicated above, our educational system has become a waste bin, or "borla", any Leader could just come and dump anything inside. This is one of reasons that accounts for churning out intellectual illiterates, since their foundations have been shoddy.

Consequently, one wouldn’t rule out the fact that our Elite have become lethargic and self-centred to the extent that what matters most is themselves………nothing for the country at all!!!!!!!

For me, the real illiterates are not necessarily those who can’t read and write but we those who attain numerous degrees and occupy strategic positions but are unable to rectify our own economic technical hitches, expecting that “someone, somehow will soon make a change”.
