TAKING A STROLL WITH THE DEVIL?(PERVASIVE "HOMOSENSELESSNESS")-Part 1

For me, I think homosexuality is an inimical disaster. It’s a nasty thing to do.  It’s filthy and uncultured. It’s a “terrible and unnatural phenomenon”. The least we can do is to condemn this “abnormal nonsense”. It’s disheartening and unnerving to note however that there are some people who actually advocate this “social disorder”.

From all standards of human imagination, I can’t simply fathom this absolute ineptitude, which the society has become so inundated with. Even animals do not practice this lecherous abnormality.

One doesn’t need to be “stainless” to talk about the moral decadence that has engulfed our society because the standards of morality have become so low to the extent of a probable extinction.

Most importantly the proliferation of Homosexuality cannot by any sphere of imagination be condoned. It’s uncultured, unethical, "unchristian", "unmoslem" and doesn’t even meet the basic standards of humanity.

It’s an indictment on our social and religious institutions that this social disorder is beginning to gain grounds. It is one thing to say the act and practice of homosexuality is illegal and another to say it’s antonymous to our religious beliefs (Christianity, Islam or even African Indigenous religion). All these religions ideally oppose homosexuality comprehensively and absolutely.

It’s stupefying however that those who commit this “unnatural atrocity” are members of the various religions.

One of the reasons why I detest this indecency and uncouth behavior is the obvious risk it poses to our society. How can a man marry a man? Or a woman shamelessly marry another woman. Indeed this is disgusting to say the least. It’s an act of gross stupendous abnormality which is in itself an affront to our societal values.

The most infuriating aspect of this ludicrous attitude is the creeping in of religious influence.  Certain churches have started solemnizing unions between homosexuals and ordaining them as priests.

In spite of my initial proposition of not entirely taunting and “coming hard at” religious entities, I beg to repudiate this stance. I dare to say that their(religious groups who support homosexuality) actions contradict the Bible in all respects and casts a slur on the Christian faith. Without mincing words, I state unambiguously that they are obviously wrong.

Some people whom I’m sure are not well in tuned with the basic principles of morality and the intricacies of the bible make the spurious and erroneous arguments to reiterate their assertions, citing most importantly John 8:7 to buttress their point of supporting homosexuality.

I guess the "homosenseless", sorry homosexuals don’t even like the kind of repugnant name they (I don’t even like it myself) have and the derogatory impact it has on the society hence they change their names to gay (which means joy, merry, happiness etc), creating a rather erroneous impression of themselves.

One might wonder the kinds of orientation which prompts people to be homosexuals or “gay”. In essence, I’ve come out with the three kinds of homosexuals in the society.

Those who are outwardly male but posses female genetic makeup and psychological characteristics and vi
    ce versa.
Those influenced by the pressures of peers
Those who do it by their own free will, relegating all essence of values to the background (Probably   instigated by the devil).

These I believe are the total makeup of the homosexual society. It’s a comprehensive one if you ask me. It caters for all the perverse influences that propel this act.

It had been scientifically proven by some American Psychologists that Homosexuality has nothing to do with abnormality or malfunctioning of the brain. I’m tempted to believe this assertion because I unequivocally hold to the proposition that homosexuality is a way of life, an illicit culture, which unfortunately has been diffused into our values and norms.

The Bible is quite evasive about Homosexuality but on some few occasions, it unambiguously and categorically stipulated how the LORD detests homosexuality. Let’s now take a trail to Bible (for me, the Bible an essential yardstick to measure what is wrong or not)……..the bible in spite of the many spurious interpretations given to it cannot be sidelined in this sensitive issue)

In 2Peter 1:4, the Bible clearly states “Through these he has given us his great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires”.

For me the bible couldn’t be any clearer, what could be the evil desires if it’s not homosexual inclusive. It doesn’t mean that its only homosexuality that the bible is referring to but at least it is one of them.

In his epistle to the Corinthians, Paul enumerated in clear categorical terms (1 Cor 6:9-11), “Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived …….neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male Prostitutes nor homosexuals offenders will inherit the kingdom of God. And that was how some of you were but you were washed".

I don’t think its practically relevant to expound on this because it’s obvious and categorical

Romans 1:18-32 states, “the wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all godlessness and wickedness of men, who suppress the truth by their wickedness”. This verse outlines the consequences for those who decide to be oblivious of the truth and inadvertently twist the bible to satisfy their own ferocious and illicit desires.

The book of Lev. 18:22 and 20:15 paints a vivid picture of Homosexuality, it reads “do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman, that is detestable"..This couldn’t be any clearer……

Genesis 19 elaborated on how Lot would rather, her daughters were sexually exploited than allowing his visitors who were males from any sexual intimacy with the men of Sodom who attacked his house.
Never in the Bible had same sex ever being endorsed, it is a perverse and illicit thing to do and had never being in the order of nature.

Indeed in Genesis 2:24, the Bible says, “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife and they will become one”. This inexplicable peril of homosexuality had never being affirmed by the bible.................................to be contd.

PROLIFERATION OF ALCOHOLISM, A NEW FOUND RELIGION-(DROWING IN THE PASSION OF ALCOHOL)

Everyone talks about culture and it seems we only talk about the positive sides of it. One of the inimical aspects of culture we’ve been nursing and nurturing for some time now is alcoholism.

The proliferation of numerous alcoholic breverages does not help matters. There is an “Akpeteshie” joint in every corner in Ghana. There is no where you would turn to without finding such stalls, with “service Providers” briskly providing service to their “loyal” customers.

In recent times, I’ve watched with keen interest the enthusiastic and aura filled alcohol adverts on our screens. I must admit that the marketers of these products do their jobs pretty well, considering how they are easily able to capture the cream of their targets through the, humor, wit, sarcasm and perhaps comedy they portray in their adverts.

Take for instant the cargo advert, one couldn’t help but laugh at the obviously interesting scenes which were ingenuously created. A fat looking lady shaking her mountainous ass and a Chinese man who couldn’t resist such an enormous and mesmerizing figure, propelling a sudden earthquake just by jumping, not forgetting the unfettered laughter of the Chinese man. Whatever that means, it sort of attracted a lot of people.

The “Pusher” advert to an extent has the same theme as Cargo gin bitters. Other “contemporary” alcoholic gin bitters, which have enjoyed massive patronage and airtime play, include Atinka Coffee Gin bitters, Agya Appiah bitters, Kasapreko K20, Kasapreko Alomo Bitters, Barons dry gin etc.

What is worth noting however is that these adverts are pivoted around “half naked” girls and since they know that the youth are much interested in such lasciviousness, it doesn’t take long before their set objective is achieved.

Alcohol according to credible research is known to contribute significantly to acute health related problems. Upon a detailed and comprehensive research and analysis, I chanced upon what I think would be of strategic relevance to “up and coming Alcoholics” and others “already living the dream” about the dangers of alcoholism and its abuse.

  • Serious liver problems (alcoholic liver disease).
  • Some stomach disorders.
  • Pancreatitis (severe inflammation of the pancreas).
  • Mental health problems, including depression and anxiety.
  • Sexual difficulties such as impotence.
  • Muscle and heart muscle disease.
  • High blood pressure.
  • Damage to nervous tissue.
  • Accidents - drinking alcohol is associated with a much increased risk of accidents. In particular, injury and death from fire and car crashes. About 1 in 7 road deaths are caused by drinking alcohol.
  • Some cancers (mouth, gullet, liver, colon and breast).
  • Obesity (alcohol has many calories).
  • Damage to an unborn baby in pregnant women.
  • Alcohol dependence (addiction).
According to research, Alcohol is a toxic substance for the body’s cells. It works as a poison for the cells having a hygroscopic effect, which eventually leads to total cell destruction.

Consequently, alcohol is a stress factor for the entire body causing an increased blood pressure. High amounts of substances like sugar, lipids and cortisone are released into the bloodstream.

Also, blood tests on alcoholics or “friends of the bottle” indicates lack of Calcium, vitamin D and phosphates, which increases the propensity of “bone fractures”.

The body uses big amounts of energy to eliminate the alcohol. This energy is usually used by the body's organs to function normally. The liver uses more than 80 percent of its available oxygen to metabolize the alcohol. The alcohol becomes a "metabolic paralizer".

The cardiac and cerebral cells are seriously affected by the alcohol because these cells also use a high amount of oxygen.

According to a 2005 study by Kenneth J. Mukamal, M.D. and colleagues published in the journal "Annals of Internal Medicine," consumption of more than two drinks per day may be associated with an increased risk for ischemic stroke, which is an interruption of blood flow to the brain.

Consistent and unabated intake of alcohol increases the risk of Liver Leucosis which are usually diagnosed very late. Increased alcohol consumption propels an additional catabolic mechanism of the alcohols called (Microtonal Ethanol Oxidation System). This explains why it’s very addictive.

Pancreatic Infections eventually leads to diabetes. Furthermore, alcohol consumption increases the risk of Oesthogian Cancer, i.e. Oral Laryngeal, Intestinal Cancer and breast cancer among Women.

In females, consistent intake of alcohol could damage the fetus (Alcoholic embriopathy).

The most delicate and perhaps sensitive organ of the body, which stands a great risk of permanent destruction and total chaos, is the brain, because an incessant intake of alcohol actually mars the degeneration of the nervous cells.

Each time you drink, thousands of nervous cells are destroyed initiating another disastrous ailment namely, “Organic Phychosyatrom”.

A 2003 Meta analysis by Kristi Reynolds and colleagues in the Journal of American Association stipulates that “Heavy drinking boosts the relative risk of stroke.

Taking alcohol is that risky and can actually be a matter of buying one’s own death. I can’t help but think about the folks, (the youth and women inclusive) in my village, who have gradually turned “alcoholism” into a sought of cult, a religion they’ve become so obsessed with.

Some people can drink so much that a mere sipping of a glass of water could make them drunk. They take alcohol like water, and they think it’s funny. They are always drunk, and so their actions are not predetermined by their own thoughts and intents. The alcohol is their “lawyer”. What a pathetic malice, that one could inflict on himself!!!

Drunkards give so much reverence to alcohol, to the extent that they knock on the door of sellers as early as 5:00 am to “break the fast”.

It’s stupefying to note that alcohol could be so disastrous but people continue to abuse this drug without thinking about how inimical it would be to their health. In Ghana, we don’t even take 45% or 11%, which are very high levels of Alcoholic content in themselves. We rather take the revered “painyin de painyin”, aka spirit, bka Akpeteshie, which I consent could contain 99.9% alcohol. That’s what people wash their mouth with, party with and enjoy with.

So this is just it, if you are sipping down the “toxic spirit”, be conscious of the fact that you are just inviting afflictions and more or less incurable diseases to yourself, and when your liver, pancreas, brain, nervous system, kidney and other delicate organs in your body begin to shred like beef, then you shouldn’t forget how intentionally oblivious you were of the dangers associated with alcoholism and alcohol abuse and be mindful of the adage that says “smart people learn from their mistakes and the wise ones learn from the mistake of others”

INTELLECTUAL ILLITERACY

It’s ineluctably appalling and stupendous listening to purported intellectuals or the so called elites, who do nothing practical but speak arrant balderdash on the air-waves, all in the name of Partisan politics, relegating to the background the need to apply their educational competence in tackling the pertinent issues of our dear nation, which is infested with “economic virus” and literally under medical surveillance.

Sometimes, I just wish we had a Team of Medical Doctors, who would constantly diagnose the litany of economic problems we have.  Which have consequently become inherent in us since we see it as an absolute normality with a stethoscope or probably as some politicians suggest (that the economy is an intensive care), a transfusion of blood would be a soothing initial backup for our “acute economic anemia”.

The fact is that our problems have gone beyond politicians and economists, who are themselves more confused than the layman.

These individuals (which includes you and I), who posses numerous doctorate degrees and high ranking positions rather than engaging in practical academic researches and increasing productivity respectively, that would to an extent culminate into  fruitful ventures, which would subsequently lead to  an improvement in the living standards of Ghanaians are predisposed to rambling "Academic nonsense" and dabbling in "Economic (Political) precipitation".

To buttress my assertions, I would site an instance where the Economists, or perhaps “Partisan Economist” churn out gibberishes like, “The GDP of the country has been engrossed in an insulating deficiency, which propels an overwhelming increase in the Inflation rate, stirring a massive and incomprehensible hike in the prime rate; this situation has further led to a substantial decline in the Human development Index and hence any further government expenditure, would in the short run submerge the Net National Product at factor cost into a whooping deficit of the country’s total net reserves. In other to subvert this impediment on our economic fortunes, it would be prudent for us to inculcate a sense of pragmatism into the marginal revenues and total cost expenditure on ostentatious goods”.

For goodness sake what was that? A cacophony of contradictory statements;which i can evidently state are  elusive statements fed to as "from a feeding bottle" like babies, just to “throw dust in our eyes” because they presume we wouldn’t understand these nebulous statements.

I don’t think there are more suitable or more derogative terms to describe these avaricious individuals who are consciously in tuned to their parochial interests.

Essentially, this avalanche of individuals, do not have any idea about how to decisively deal with the relevant issues that confront us.

Anyone who listens ardently to the news or conducts a credible research any where other than “our part of the world” would affirmatively endorse the ineluctable fact that, unlike Ghana, they've benefited immensely from the researches that had been conducted by their universities and how these researches have yielded fruitful results in tackling societal issues.

Credible facts show that solar panels have been built, cars, mobile phones, architectural designs and other artifacts that are of technological relevance have been developed by virtue of scientific application and ingenuity .

For Ghana, all we do is prattle in political exegeses and talk plenty of “academic nonsense” full of theories without any practical aspect. This is a country where a PhD holder in Mechanical Engineering sends his, faulty car to a mechanic and the most qualified and technically competent person in an organization sits in the office while amateurs and novices do the actual work.

A bird once whispered to me in confidence that the only thing we have comparative advantage over in terms of production is polythene bags and toilet roll, which is as hard as corn husks. Eventually, it is in these same rubbers that we do the "thing" and throw it about with impunity, worsening the plight of our already filthy city.

We’ve engrossed ourselves in “A fallacy of fantasies” with the cantankerous ideology that “it shall be well”.

The fact is that if we do not pragmatically deal with our educational system, which has been so much politicized to the impedimental detriment of students, this trend of churning out “intellectual illiterates” would forever remain with us. As at now I don’t even know if there’s any sensible thing our younger ones learn, or which syllabus is applicable.

It’s also most unnerving that these syllabuses or what I call “contradictory scraps” are not made available to students just as it’s done in the Universities, making the students ignorant of the set standards, which propels them to learn “Non-Sylla”, thus contributing to this conundrum of massive failures in the B.E.C.E.

I don’t in the least blame the students or perhaps pupils, fact being that if they knew what they should learn, they wouldn’t have failed so comprehensively. In any case, if they should all pass I shudder to think if the S.S.S, not single spine, well S.H.S we have in the country could admit them all.

I would definitely talk about the imprudent expediency of political leaders and how they’re gradually playing “Chaskele” with the future of students but certainly not now.

Indeed as I indicated above, our educational system has become a waste bin, or "borla", any Leader could just come and dump anything inside. This is one of reasons that accounts for churning out intellectual illiterates, since their foundations have been shoddy.

Consequently, one wouldn’t rule out the fact that our Elite have become lethargic and self-centred to the extent that what matters most is themselves………nothing for the country at all!!!!!!!

For me, the real illiterates are not necessarily those who can’t read and write but we those who attain numerous degrees and occupy strategic positions but are unable to rectify our own economic technical hitches, expecting that “someone, somehow will soon make a change”.

NANANA, NA SHOCK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So it’s finally been declared; hands down victory for The President, Prof. Mills. I think this was any way expected. Indeed it came as no surprise to me when he won because in my article preceding this, I did state categorically that Mills would win but what I wasn’t sure of was how enormous the margin would be.

It’s now formal and clear, that Nana Konadu, has been severely whipped and disciplined by the rod of the Old Prof. She has perhaps been taught that "the proof of the pudding is in the eating". What a comprehensive defeat!!!!!!!!! "How are the mighty fallen" hmmmmmmm, well but God knows everything Nana, take it cool......

I humbly suggest to them(the Rawlingses) that the next time they want to engage in such a preposterous and frivolous adventure, they should be mindful of the fact that Ghanaians or precisely the NDC delegates have become consistently discerning and can no longer succumb to any charismatic character in exercising their franchise.

It is also an imperative lesson for the Rawlingses and those irate and Recalcitrant FONKAR group that unnecessary noise does not necessarily win elections.

Maybe someone should offer Konadu some soothing Pain Relief  or otherwise, the way I saw her emotional demeanor and the unprecedented shock that hit her, so overwhelmingly, one would not rule out the fact that she would probably need some “apio”, to calm down her nerves.

Oh woman, why do you degrade yourself by digging your own pit and falling into it? It wasn’t as if she wasn’t told. What a disgrace, what a shock, Konadu has crossed, jumped and somersaulted into her own ditch, what a shame!!!!!!!.

Having lost so heavily, Konadu should wake up from her slumber and not consider this elections as a “bolt from the blue” but a categorical and impeccable fact that the NDC is no longer under the servitude of Rawlings but matured enough to take “bold” decisions, which ironically was their campaign message.

Indeed it was a landslide defeat for the president, unprecedented in the history of Ghana, throughout its democratic dispensation. Winning with 2771, constituting 96.9% of the total votes cast and a miserable 90 votes, constituting 3.1 % for Konadu, is enough to shut the spurious criticisms of Rawlings and his non-deductive arguments.

I would want to wish the President as well as Nana Konadu all the best. Nana should accept the lost in good faith and accept the obvious fact that “they’ve bitten the dust” and in a disgraceful manner at that.

I would finally wish to add that the NDC should work towards a peaceful and harmonious co-existence and as a matter of urgency "bury the hatchet". Members of both sides namely FONKAR and GAME should “smoke the peace” pipe and shy away from unnecessary name calling, vitriolic attacks, vituperative and vulgar attacks on each other. But all the same,  NANANA, NA SHOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE “GAME OF FONKAR”(A PERFORATED UMBRELLA) “RAWLINGSCRACY”

It’s quite interesting watching the NDC engage in a literal “SELF IMPLOSION”, in its divisive struggle to elect a Presidential candidate. For many, this precedence of contesting a sitting President not only indicts and impugn his integrity and ultimately casts a slur on his governments. It essentially supplies the opposition party with enough armories to stock its Arsenal which would be their major campaign strategy that would culminate into a probable NDC defeat in the 2012 elections.

Ever since the President assumed office, there had been relentless and incessant reports about the so called “foot soldiers” who do nothing but spew venomous rage against the president, giving ultimatums to be provided Jobs or else would “advise themselves”. These miscreants and social misfits vandalize properties and practically enslave the peace of other people with impunity.

This attitude is nothing short of “Political Insurgency”, a proliferation of an inimical standard that could spell dire consequences for the country if not immediately annulled.

Indeed it is evidently clear that the incumbent president has been the most castigated and criticized president, at least since Ghana decided the way of Democracy. What’s more stunning is that the criticisms are not necessarily from the opposition but from his own party and precisely the purported founder of their party, Jerry John Rawlings which I think is preposterous.

Even during the first week of his administration, the president had his first taste of the Pudding, when he was described as being “slow”.

Occasionally, the President was blustered with all sought of unsavory remarks; Rawlings described his administration as being full of “greedy bastards”, twits, idiots, giving key actors like Spio Garbrah the impetus and effrontery to  insolently  call the ministers of the President as Team B.

Other Mavericks and eccentrics like Teye Nyaunu and Alfred Agbeshie had a field day, hurling a barrage of vituperative and venomous attacks on the President and his administration.

The party Executives indeed had no idea, settling the feud between the supposed Rawlings Camp and the Attah Mills Camp. These apparent divisions reached its climax when it was clear that the Former President Appeared not ready to reach a compromise and allow the President to administer his constitutional mandated position and govern this country in relative peace.

Rawlings had always tried to use euphemisms, innuendos and ridiculous stories, to “throw cold water” on the Attah Mill’s Government but obviously, one could empirically deduce that his actions were just a desperate attempt “To picks holes in anything” the President does, probably to unleash his parochial interests he’s been harnessing for so long in a subtle way.

Rawlings, best known for his renowned “boom” speeches relentlessly castigates the sitting president but consistently maintains that he and his wife had no ambitions whatsoever of ascending to the corridors of power again.

Then comes a group known as FONKAR (Friends of Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings). This group had initially been denied by the Rawlingses who constantly maintained their stance that they had no interest in the presidency, even though they never relented in their incessant and unfounded criticisms of the President.

The President however “kept a stiff upper lip” and maintained his calm nature and coolness, which was actually what I presume Rawlings never expected. Indeed an initially impression about Attah Mills was that he would “easily be led by the nose”, under the auspices of Rawlings and thus wouldn’t be his own man.

Rawlings had always accused the President of not prosecuting the former government appointees. Indeed listening to this man makes me harbor doubts about his mental chemistry. I doubt if he knows about the fact that we’re in a democratic dispensation and regime and thus the various arms of government should operate independently of each other.

There had been several cases presided over by the courts but there was no substantial evidence to incarcerate the alleged criminals, since the courts found them innocent. It’s however erroneous that Rawlings thinks we’re still in the dark ages of a Dictatorial Military regime where he could satisfy his own whims and caprices by arresting and jailing anybody at his own convenience and will without due process, which is in itself a compromise on the “rule of law”.

The “Game of FONKAR” thus became clear to me when it was confirmed that Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings decided rather interestingly to run as a presidential candidate of the NDC.

I then put my ideas into thoughts and in an instant flash it dawned on me that the spurious criticisms, castigations, name calling and the open accusations of corruption were not a genuine course per se, but a grand ploy to instigate and incite the youth against the President and eventually usurp his powers through the ballot. That had been the game of the Rawlingses, and their comrades FONKAR had performed quite impressively in achieving this detrimental feat.

The internal rift within the NDC is however an interesting one considering the opportunities it would bring to bear on the NPP.

For me, JJ as I knew him whilst he was President has done a lot for Ghana, but for all these unnecessarily flowering stupidity that he had immersed himself in by trying to “Pull down the edifice he had by his own convictions built even amidst criticisms”, he has lost all respect and gradually been drawn into the gutters with his kind of deficient analysis he has about the real issues on the ground. People who used to respect him for his charisma have gradually abandoned him to his fate.

For Rawlings, every other person apart from him and his “double sweet heart” Konadu is wrong and corrupt. He never criticizes himself but all other persons. He insists that the present NDC is made up of traitors and people who contributed nothing to the formation of the Party. Another illogical comment is his nebulous reference to truth, accountability, transparency etc, which he always shouts about but which he stunningly couldn’t uphold during his almost two decade of presidency.

The former President instead of reassuring the NDC party delegates to hold their peace rather decided to “fun” the fire of enmity by cunningly endorsing the candidature of his wife

I’m sure writing a “Litany of Rawlings” or Gospel according to Rawlings wouldn’t be enough to contain all these issues that had “cropped up” during the Mills presidency and the vicious desire of Rawlings to cling back to power.

What is clear is that Attah Mills has so far exhibited a great sense of humility and utmost maturity in handling this issue, unlike an obnoxious and Repugnant Flt Lft Jerry John Rawlings, who in spite of drowning in the river cling on to the straws of vulgarity and the casting of aspersions.

It’s also an empirical deduction that the umbrella of the Rawlingses has been so much perforated that parching it would be like “chasing the wind” and a wild goose chase.

Even though I’m quite sure of an Attah mills victory in spite of the fact that I don’t support any of them, the most important thing is by how much margin he would win.

Rawlings should wake up and smell the coffee and perhaps should be minded of the fact that he no longer is the President. Indeed Saturday will determine how porous and useless Rawlings is in the party or how useful he is.

However this congress turns, it would contribute immensely and significantly or perhaps be a turning point of the NDC.

A lost for the President would have a dire consequence for governance and a lost for Konadu would probably lead to a breakaway.

The opium or antidote for these eventualities, which I perceive is that anyone who "bites the dust" should humbly accept his or her fate and forge ahead, without any post congress conflict, which is allegedly typical of the NDC.

Finally, the NDC shouldn’t over stress their incumbency because they are not “down and out” today; which gives them the audacity to dabble in political expediency and unnecessary power struggle that they’ve so much become obsessed with, but should be mindful of the fact that if they do not eschew this unnecessary heckling of each other and indignant name calling, a whooping defeat wouldn’t be a hyperbolic suggestion in 2012.

THE IMPACT OF CHRISTI-“AN(I)TI” ON THE SOCIAL STRUCTURE.

One of the reasons why people fail to appreciate the importance of Christianity and its actual relevance in relation to contemporary times is the over –ambitiousness and incessant quest for riches by Christians, who in their flimsy excuse to realize their perceived potentials succumb to all kinds of outrageous and ridiculous beliefs. This act of unprecedented paradigm shift has culminated into a significant decadence which invariably has caused the apparent withdrawal of respect for Christianity and its hitherto cherished and admirable beliefs

I do not intend to cite any practical example of such individuals, particularly supposed men of God, who shamelessly commit all sought of immoralities with impunity. It’s startling that the Gospel (the good news) has been so much relegated that it couldn’t have been proposed by any sphere of imagination that such miscreants, charlatans and preposterous hypocrites would stand on the pulpit and proclaim the gospel.

It is not my intention by any means, to institute judgment on anybody but these issues are of moral importance and since society is highly influenced by values, if care is not taken, one could empirically deduce that these untoward and unethical behaviors which are an indictment on our norms could actually turn out to be absolute normality. Indeed this is the time where people, “have become depraved, no good scoundrels, with the tastes of a pig and the putrescent values of a maggot”.

Until attaining the status of a teenager, I had always thought that religious festivals and precisely Christian festivals, namely Christmas, New year and Easter, were solemn, sacred and moments of sober reflection and meditation about, the birth, the unrestricted and graceful entry into a new year and particularly, that Christ humbled himself on the cross for us to be saved, respectively. Its however disheartening and ironical to note that rather than engaging in such moral purposes for which these festivals are celebrated, one would marvel at the rate of promiscuity, opulent display of sexual immoralities, adultery, and all sought of unscrupulous and unchristian behaviors which have actually replaced a hitherto solemn and sober reflection of Christian festivities

Need I mention what happen in the clubs? Take for instance this Easter, I was startled, perplexed, puzzled, petrified and flabbergasted by what I saw. Indeed I never imagined that such acts of impunity could exist. I couldn’t belief my eyes, well, until I pinched myself severally, to find out if I was actually dreaming. I guess you know what I’m talking about. Imagine a club, with the lights almost faded, wearingly striking the faces of people, with no intention of evidently showcasing the identity of who it actually is, and In such an environment, I saw people who were supposedly dancing but that was too close to be just a dance, hmmmm, u’re probably thinking what I saw, yes, it was actually the act!!!!!!!!!!

It would if care is not taken be a “mysterious slur” on the Christian faith if these charlatans and miscreants, who posses ridiculous doctorate degrees submerge Christianity into the dungeons and acutely impede the very essence of the bible, which they’ve so much defiled and refused to do according to its dictates and principles. You would hear of a “pastor”, said to have raped, aborted, committed incest, stolen and engaged in all sorts of malicious and fraudulent activities that are very much uncharacteristic of a true man of God.

Essentially, it would be blasphemous for anyone by any range of standard to suggest that all pastors are fake. Indeed there are many pastors, who operate and meticulously leave under the tenet and principles of the bible. We cannot say in absolute entirety, the righteousness of these ones without somehow contradicting the bible but it is evidently clear that at least Most pastors are living up to expectation.

I would like to add finally that, Christians should not be so much obsessed with miracles and signs the departs significantly from the Bible but be more conscious about the Word(which essentially entails miracle). Christian festivals which have been so much defiled should at least for the Christians be moments of deep reflections and penance, rather than engaging in frivolous, erroneous and unchaste activities, which are in themselves an affront and impediment to the bible and probably detrimental to the Christian faith. It is my wish and utmost presumption that this piece would refine the unprecedented corrupt, ferocious, sheer apathy to the bible and the avaricious, immoral and repulsively “devilish” phenomenon that had inundated the Christian community.

A CITY OF FILTH

Ghana is engulfed in filth and practically submerged into an array of stench.  The garbage is so overwhelming; everywhere you turn to is filled with garbage and trash. Let’s be a little precise. Take for instant the capital city of Ghana, Accra. Accra stinks so badly that the stench which emanates from it can obviously guarantee a place in the Guinness World Book of Records.

Our drainage system is a laughable failure. All the gutters are choked to the brim. This just reminds me of Psalm 23, “My cup runneth over”. The only difference is that in this case, “our gutters runneth over “.
The most captivating irony of this appalling deterioration of the capital city is the erroneous and implausible impression of a millennium city which is a spurious attempt to obfuscate the facts; fact being that we’ve gradually turned Accra into a refuse dump. How could a person, in his wildest imagination consider this filthy and stinky Accra as a millennium city? That’s quite a sarcastic joke.

It is an ineluctable fact that walking the streets of Makola is a "real ordeal". It’s very challenging trekking down those streets and coping with such a piercing stench. What is most disheartening is that we see all these things as an absolute normality. We walk along unconcerned, perhaps with utmost disgust and spit out just to show how unpleasant the stench is. I wonder if there’s any town or village in Ghana which smells as bad as Accra.

Instead of pragmatically dealing with these kinds of “trash”, our leaders decide to rather churn out more verbal trashes to add to the trash we already have in the streets. Our political stewards are so vindictive and expedient in their decisions such that they resort to all kinds of diabolic means to discredit their opponents at the expense of tackling the very essential issues for which they came to power.

Rather than initiating policies and programs to steadily deal with the ridiculous rubbish which have engulfed the city, all they do is to propagate lies, propaganda, mischievous falsehoods about political opponents and spew all sorts of malicious rebuttals.

Commuting along the  principal streets of Accra is stunningly monotonous. The green median which were supposed to be green are all dirty brown interspersed with weeds and all sorts of paths in between. The controversial Presidential Palace is not an exception of this filth. Everywhere you go (MTN) is filth, filth, and filth.

Maybe it would at this point be convenient for me to say that the “lavender” hill is a microcosm of Accra. Indeed Accra stinks, no two ways about that. Everywhere smells so terrible. I look forward to the day where Metro TV will stop telecasting the overwhelming rubbish and trash in our minds, sorry in our streets.

I’ve read and heard from quite a reliable source that when the NDC Government assumed power and appointed Alfred beard, sorry Vendepuije as Mayor, he decided to zone Accra and terminated the contract of zoom lion, which monopolized the collection of rubbish and trash because of the unreasonable thought and obnoxious perception that it was affiliated to the NPP.

So far this erroneous impression proved useless and hopeless. Fact being that in spite of the initial prevalence of garbage, rubbish and trash, it wasn’t as overwhelming as it is now. Accra indeed has become an epitome of “borla”, pure and unadulterated garbage.

This is the kind of inimical impediment that befalls us when we decide to dabble in political expediency and relegate efficiency, just to satisfy the parochial interest of a few “greedy bastards”.

To be fair to the government of the day, I must state that it isn’t their fault in entirety that has led us to this sullen state. All the previous governments have failed woefully in dealing with the filth in Accra, not to talk of the whole Ghana. So I wouldn’t single out any government, since they all proved to be useless and ineffective as far as the governance of this country and address of pertinent issues is concerned.

It’s perhaps more important to note that our culture of undermining the laws and doing things as we’re predisposed to do haven’t been of any help. It’s said that the only practical law in Ghana is the “male and female toilet” law.

We throw rubbish around as if it’s no one’s business. If there should be any group of people who “shit”  in rubber, tie the mouth and throw it just anywhere with impunity then u probably should be asking the residents of Accra their motive behind this uncultured behavior. We don't even spare the sea and rivers this repugnant attitude of dumping refuse and waste imprudently

This is a Country where people openly defecate into drains; pour rubbish into gutters, impeding the free flow of water. These illicit behaviors contribute significantly to the perennial floods in Accra. When this happens, we tend to blame the politicians and even God. When would we learn to take responsibility for our actions?
The city authorities have done well by providing free bins for homes and along the streets but that’s not good enough. In fact it’s not good at all. Sometimes, I have to carry my trash in my bag and dispose of it when I reach the house, just because there are no bins around.

We are quick to lash out at indecent dressing and sexual lasciviousness, because we consider it as filthy and immoral. We’re however unable to deal with the filth in our surroundings. Sometimes I think we Ghanaians talk too much without acting. We criticize everything; meanwhile, we can’t deal with the basic problems that confront us or even prevent them from happening anyway. Dwelling in such a deficient ideology, we expect the politicians to solve the problems for us.

The ineluctable fact is if we don’t litter our environment, we wouldn’t be facing these problems that have become so phenomenal. It is for this irresponsible reason that we should have intimidating diseases like cholera, bilharzias, ring worm, malaria and other jaw-breaking diseases, which could have been easily preempted if we had adhered to simple personal hygiene and maintained a clean environment.

"SHE-POCRITES"

Dabbling in issues of morality is quite a challenge to me. Fact being that I’m not flawless, neither am I spic and span, devoid of any “spec” in my eyes. However the upsurge of immorality and social decadence has been so immortalized and institutionalized that it calls for concern.

I watch the so called African movies and it’s disheartening to observe how women who are supposed to be Christians find it absolutely prudent to submerge and conceal their cherished values just for money.

I had always thought that prostitution was just limited to “slots” or “insatiable bitches” that are desperate for money, and would strive at any length to achieve this feat, irrespective of how this “flourishing business” dint or casts a slur on their image.  I had also reckoned that its only prostitutes who "flex their bodies for sex".

My initial thoughts indeed were erroneous. It is an ineluctable fact that the posture of these actresses is tantamount to prostitution, sheer hypocrisy and desperation for money? Just reflect on what they do in films. They dress like “bitches” half naked or probably almost naked just to make "cash out of the trash" they put up.  They kiss desperately and passionately in films and allow themselves to be fondled by their male irresponsible counterparts. So what’s the thin line, I mean the difference between prostitutes and film actresses.

May be I’m just trying to malign and indict the integrity of these actresses but for what benefit would I engage in such a frivolity. It would be sarcastic and a laughable hypocrisy for anyone to suggest that the passionate kisses, supposed sex and indecent dressing for money do not constitute prostitution.

The apparent difference between actresses and prostitutes is probably the fact that they do not really have sex on set.

Just imagine that in this “society of impropriety”; a married woman is caught kissing someone else. All hell will break lose. But if the same scenario is repeated in a film it’s an absolute normality. What’s more petrifying is that nobody ever talks about it. Such inconsistency is to say the least a strategic dysfunction of the society.

Just that I do not victimize anybody, I would flee from the temptation of naming names, to avoid any unnecessary confrontations.

Let’s however not be tight lipped about the proliferation of these abnormalities.
Presently, film is just about unleashing sexual opulence in an incessant and unfettered manner full of passion with the flimsy excuse that there are no strings attached to it. The question we should be conscious of is; "do prostitutes attach any strings to their customers or clients"? They just do it for money. So it’s just so synonymous.

I don’t think I would leave out those quacks who call themselves directors and producers. I recently heard one of them say categorically that "if you can’t kiss, then I’m sorry you can’t act”. Such an irresponsible comment from a matured person.  I shudder to think these people actually reflect on what they churn out? From all indications, it’s obvious that they lack the pre-requisite technical knowhow. Anyone who has some rickety cameras and a bunch of “harlots” can produce a film.

They lack the innovative and captivating ideas, resorting to obscene, nudity etc. No wonder these lascivious and lecherous “prostitutes” churn out absolute rubbish which they call films that have no positive moral implications for the society.

All they do is to expose their naked bodies, to frustrate the eyes of men. They shake their butts provocatively and expose their breasts as if it were “2 balls of banku served on a plate”.

Lets not obfuscate the issues here. The fact is that sexual opulence is now the “real deal”. Why do we castigate homosexuals and remain oblivious of the moral decadence of film “prostitutes”.

Instead of addressing the pertinent issues, the society decide to prattle about unnecessary things, which are inimical to the advancement of our society, which (the society) has become so admonished with filth:  filth in gutters, on the streets and most importantly in the minds of the people.

In spite of the pretty deductive and illustrative truths I’ve evinced above, I wouldn’t be perplexed if I come under a barrage of vitriolic and vituperative attacks.

Indeed the hitherto cherished and virtuous are not dormant but explicitly defunct and extinct so I can’t be bordered about any empty and elusive castigation.

To make this society return to its unsullied state, it’s imperative and incumbent on us all to eschew hypocrisy and call a spade a spade. Be more circumspect in our utterances and “hit the nail on the head”. If we should all in a sense of communion condemn this moral decadence which has embellished and enveloped the society into a dungeon of “solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short” state , where the life of man is so self centered, life will be much more harmonious and relatively easy to live in in this hypocritical society of ours.

From what I’ve illustrated so far, it’s clear and obvious that prostitutes on the street do not in any way differ from those actresses who shamelessly bite each other’s mouth as if they were kissing and whose bodies are caressed by the male actors, all in the name of money.

In essence I can’t perceive any thin line which exonerates actresses from the dungeon of sexual promiscuity and sexual lusciousness.

I’m quite convinced that any sensible person who reads this article would think twice when considering what prostitution is.

For me, the prostitutes are not those who stand on the roads and wait for a “catch in a batch” but rather those “She-Pocrites”, who shamelessly ignore their husbands at home, relegate all senses of morality and values but choose to engage in "sexual extravaganza on set.

NB: I write this with no intention of unnecessarily victimizing anyone, so if by any sphere of reason, someone thinks my language so too vulgar, that’s his or her view, “so hold it”, and in as much as you can hold your views, I’m sure you would also allow me to have mine and hold it.
